Privacy Policy

How we handle personal data when you use HostelPrice, receive alerts, or visit this website.

Last updated: 7 August 2026

1. Who is responsible for your data

HostelPrice is operated by Growth Arc Network, LLC. In this policy, “HostelPrice”, “we”, and “us” refer to that operator. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@hostelprice.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Account and contact data: your email address, display name, account role, authentication records, and communications with us.
  • Property configuration: your property, Hostelworld listing, timezone, selected competitors, room-tier mappings, alert rules, and channel preferences.
  • WhatsApp data: the phone number you submit, verification status, hashed verification codes, send and attempt counts, delivery status, Meta message identifiers, and opt-out status.
  • Alert and service activity: alert batches, delivery attempts, timestamps, failures, and whether an alert link was opened.
  • Usage, security, and diagnostics: request data, device and browser information, IP-derived security information, error reports, logs, and audit records.
  • Public market data: public Hostelworld listing, availability, rate, room, review, and rank observations. This describes publicly offered accommodation, not a guest booking with HostelPrice.

3. WhatsApp verification, alerts, and STOP requests

We use the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API to send verification messages and alert templates to a number you ask us to use. Meta receives the destination number, template content, and delivery information needed to provide that service. We receive delivery, read, and failure events from Meta.

When an incoming message is exactly “STOP”, we use its sender number and message identifier to disable WhatsApp alerts. Other incoming message bodies are not retained by HostelPrice; we record only that an unsupported inbound event occurred. A STOP request opts you out of WhatsApp messages but does not delete your HostelPrice account.

4. Why we use data and our legal bases

  • To create and operate your account, monitor your configured market, produce comparisons, and deliver requested alerts — necessary to perform our agreement with you.
  • To verify and send WhatsApp messages — based on your request and consent where consent is required. You can withdraw that consent by replying STOP or changing your channel settings.
  • To secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the service — our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights.
  • To keep records, answer lawful requests, and meet legal obligations — compliance with applicable law.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We use providers only for the work needed to run HostelPrice:

  • Supabase for authentication and managed database infrastructure.
  • Railway for the subscriber application and background workers.
  • Meta Platforms for WhatsApp Cloud API message delivery and status events.
  • Sentry for error reporting and service diagnostics.
  • Vercel for this public website and its standard hosting logs.

We may also disclose information to professional advisers, authorities, or a successor to the service when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights and security. We do not sell personal data.

6. Retention

We keep account and configuration data while your account is active and for only as long afterward as needed for deletion processing, security, disputes, and legal obligations. Verification and delivery records are kept only as long as needed to operate and evidence messaging consent, delivery, and opt-out handling. Provider logs and backups expire on operational schedules.

Public Hostelworld listing and historical market observations are shared system data. Deleting an account removes its tenant-owned links and settings but does not delete those independent public observations. We may keep de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify you.

7. International processing

HostelPrice and its providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on adequacy decisions, contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

8. Security

We use access controls, tenant isolation, encrypted connections, scoped service credentials, audit records, and monitoring designed to protect data. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data; object to certain processing; or withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Send a request to hello@hostelprice.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

10. Children

HostelPrice is a business service for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
